About the Show
Gumball Dreams is a guided virtual reality theater experience with a live actor designed for three audience members. Each show runs between approx. 60 minutes long.
Winner of the SXSW Audience Award XR Experience Competition, the show will have its international premier at the prestigious Venice Film Festival.
Narrative Summary
Finding yourself on a foreign planet, greeted by a quirky AI robot, you are sent on a mission of mercy, to help Onyx transition from this life to the next. Each interaction with this majestic creature is illuminating and fascinating when you are asked to delve into your past and share stories with your fellow travelers in moments out of time.
But before Onyx can lay infinite wisdom at your feet, the weight of your spirit must be assessed. If found ready, you shall embark upon the journey of a lifetime, skipping among the stars, floating above the spheres, and remembering who you truly are.

Experiential Design
Live theater in virtual reality is an emerging genre of storytelling that feels tailor made for immersive theater, where interactivity, intimacy and immersion are prioritized. While traditional theater has dominated around the world, immersive theater tends to be available only in large cities. Bringing this art form into VR, audiences are no longer limited by geographical location and may experience this form of storytelling from their homes in a VR headset. Giving accessibility and experience to those who haven’t been fortunate enough to participate in a live immersive show in real life.
Gumball Dreams defies classification, existing in a mixture of sci-fi, fantasy, animation and experimentation.
This fictional story allows audience members to leave their real life body behind and embody alien avatars, as they set off on a surreal journey led by Onyx. An ancient creature whose own existence is coming to an end.
Live Virtual Performance
We are looking to push the boundaries of how live theater is enjoyed by bringing it to a virtual platform with our fourth production, Gumball Dreams. Because immersive theater shares many of the same experiential qualities as narrative gaming along with the environmental immersion of virtual reality, we believe that it will flourish in VR because of its cinematic potential. Providing participants a real-time responsive interaction that feels intimate and personal.
How it Works
Gumball Dreams will be performed live with one actor playing multiple roles. Audiences may attend from anywhere in the world, as long as they have access to a VR headset!
Through the magic of VR technology, participants will feel fully immersed into the 3D world.
